Seoul Hotdog brings a fresh, mouthwatering twist to the Berkeley food scene with its authentic Korean-style hot dogs. Nestled at 2505 Hearst Ave D, this charming spot is a must-visit for anyone craving a playful yet deeply satisfying snack that beautifully blends Korean street food tradition with American flair.
Specializing in Korean hot dogs, Seoul Hotdog’s menu is a treasure trove of inventive, crave-worthy options. From the iconic Seoul Premium Beef hot dog ($3.39), perfectly seasoned and enveloped in a delightfully crispy batter, to the indulgent Mozza & Sausage ($4.39) boasting a glorious cheese pull that will leave cheese lovers swooning, each bite is a revelation. Not to be missed is the Sweet Potato Seoul ($5.39), where the hot dog is coated in a crunchy sweet potato crust and served with an optional sugar dusting for a sublime salty-sweet dance across the palate. Adventurous eaters will appreciate the Squid Ink Mozza ($4.89), wrapped in a unique black squid ink batter that tastes as exciting as it looks. The vegan option, the Veggle Plant Base ($4.89), caters thoughtfully to non-GMO, vegan-certified preferences without compromising on flavor or texture.
The magic of Seoul Hotdog lies not just in its creative flavors but in the meticulous preparation that results in a crispy exterior without that heavy, greasy feeling typical of deep-fried treats. The batter is thin, light, and crunchy — a perfect contrast to the juicy, savory fillings inside. As one satisfied guest, Abigail Chin, raves, the sweet potato option is “perfectly fried, and surprisingly not greasy at all,” making every bite an irresistibly addictive experience. And with tantalizing sauces and seasoning choices like sugar coating or spicy batter, each hot dog can be uniquely customized to elevate your snack game.
Beyond the food, Seoul Hotdog offers a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere marked by friendly staff and a buzzing energy that reflects the lively spirit of Berkeley. Whether you stop by for a quick mid-afternoon bite like Hoang T and their daughter or settle in with family as Sergio B did, the vibe is casual and inclusive, with ample seating for enjoying your order fresh and hot. The thoughtful service and palpable passion for authentic flavors shine through, turning what might seem like a simple corn dog into a memorable culinary adventure.
For those who appreciate bold flavors, the Triple Cheese & Hot Cheetos combination, recommended by fans like Tiffany Phu, delivers an explosive crunch and an epic cheese pull, perfectly paired with a sweet and salty finish when rolled in sugar. Don’t forget to add a dash of sriracha or mustard, as suggested by Jeongbum Seo, to introduce that extra kick that completes the flavor profile beautifully.
In essence, Seoul Hotdog isn’t just another hot dog joint; it’s a lovingly crafted destination for those seeking authentic Korean street food infused with creativity and unbeatable taste. Whether you’re a local Bear or a curious traveler, this spot promises a joyous bite every time.

A must try if in the Berkeley area. These corn dogs are a rare gem in the Bay Area. Although by description they don’t seem like much (a Korean-ized corn dog), they immensely exceeded my expectations. I ordered the sweet potato covered dog and agreed when asked if I wanted to coat it in sugar (because why not??). The outside was perfectly fried, and surprisingly not greasy at all. I’d describe it as the closest cousin to a funnel cake only meatier (meteor?), the texture of the surrounding dough is airy but crispy on the outside. The hot dog inside is not particularly anything special but it shines through in its own ordinarily wonderful way. Will definitely come again!
We came here for mid-afternoon bite per my daughter's recommendation. We got #2 order (Mozza& Sausage). It was very tasty. The batter is just right. I would recommend it everyone. My only regret is that I did not choose spice batter option. Save it for next time I am at Berkeley. Go Bears!
I love Korean corn dogs and this place does it well. You can choose your filling and outside which varies with original, potato, hot cheetos and more. I tried the three cheese with hot cheetos. Super crunchy and the cheese pull was epic. They have a few sauce options too. They offer to roll your corn dog in sugar which was a nice salty and sweet contrast. I wish there was more kick/hot from the cheetos but overall so good!
Amazing environment and delicious Korean Hotdogs, I tried #9 for me and my family and we all loved it I recommend it. The place had friendly workers and a very good vibe from everyone. The wait was approximately 3-5 minutes and there is seating everywhere.
What an authentic Korean snack! The batter is nice and thin, so fluffy! What is great about the Hotdog is you can hardly taste oily even though it is deep fried. It is so addictive! Sriracha and mustard bumps up the flavor!
I’ve never had these before today. Let me just tell you!!!!! The best corn dogs I’ve ever had in my life! So many varieties, great prices and the best customer service I’ve had in a long time. The owners and employees are very helpful, so caring and make you feel like you’re home away from home. Like literally, I could cry because they were so nice! I will be returning often! Please support this local Berkeley business! You won’t regret it. Plenty of easy parking nearby! Did I mention great prices? Your kids will love it too! My daughter and I are obsessed now! They made our dream of having Korean corn dogs that we’ve seen in the shows we watch, come to life and it was so worth it!!!!
These hotdogs are great, although they are different, they have no bun, instead, they are covered with different crunchy toppings like potatoes. Some of them has less sausage to accommodate for cheese. Then there are the sauce you can add on top, mustard and others. The only drawback here is the lack of mayo. There is a banana drink that is typical Korean and taste like banana., that is recommended if you don't have problems with high sugar drinks. The main problem here was that there was no diet coke.
Korean street food tucked away in a small space across from the Berkeley campus. Korean corn dogs are not as sweet as the American version since they don't use cornmeal. the crunchy potato cube coating is not greasy. One corndog is enough for a quick lunch Give it a try if you've never had one
